Often the same photographs or graphics or even generated pieces get to become a part of a new graphic over and over again. As mentioned in previous post, Leonard and me just had too many works to fit the gallery, so Barbara (the curtator) first packed them as tight as possible and then suggested to put some works in other rooms or even in the hallway. I was trying to place the Power plant there, but it just didn’t fit. As it turned out at later, it fits the stairwell at home perfectly, but while it was being carried around and placed here and there, a hook was spotted on the hallway ceiling. Which strongly suggested there is an urgent and emediate need for hanging and dangling thingie, like perhaps a mobile. So I called Aco of Epigram and cuningly offered him a perfect oportunty to become a last minute (this was only two days before the opening, which was yesterday) cosponsor of the exhibition by employing his machinery to craft a few large-scale (the biggest piece is 1.2 m tall) models of my own avatar, conveniently nicknamed The spectator. Theese were then roped together into a mobile and tuned up by Fojž, a fellow artist, who makes and tunes little ceramic mobiles on a regular basis. The mobile turned out just lovely and endured unexpectedly harsh winds just long enough so I could take a few snapshots and create a stop-motion animation for documentation purposes as well as your viewing pleasure. It’s all beaten up and missing quite a few corners by now (only a day after the hanging), but I decided to let it hang until it falls appart completely.

This one is based on a 3D model of an ultralight glider Apis WR, a holder of several world records in it’s class.

But there’s another story to it. I’ve seen my share of computer graphics, but the first time I ever said *wow* was when I saw some images of Kolja Tatić. And flyboy’s delight is my way of saying thanks for some beautiful works this great artist is sharing with us.
