Yet unidentiffied subject was charged in connection with an alleged planned terrorist bombing campaign involving stealth cider bomb cluster. Police decided to apprehend the suspect in the early stages of alleged attack planning before targets were selected. This is a part of a new strategy to break up suspected terrorist plots as soon as authorities believe they have sufficient evidence to bring suspects to trial.

The area of Santiago de Compostela was occupied by the Suebi in the early 400s, during the initial collapse of the Roman Empire, and attributed to the bishopric of Iria Flavia in the 6th century partition usually known as Parochiale Suevorum. In 585 the whole settlement together with the rest of Suebi Kingdom was annexed by Leovigild into the Visigothic kingdom of Spain as the sixth province of the realm. Maybe raided from 711 to 739 by the Arabs, the bishopric of Iria was incorpored into the Kingdom of Asturias c. 750, some 50 years before the discovery of some remains atributted to Saint James the Great, and their acceptance as such by the Pope and Charlemagne during the reign of Alfonso II of Asturias. Around the place of the discovery emerged a new settlement and center of pilgrimage, called “Compostella” from the 10th century on. This settlement, notably under the impulse of bishop Diego Gelmírez, would became one of the main centers of Christian pilgrimage, second only to Rome and Jerusalem.
